The Tepin chilli pepper is a wild chilli from Central America, and Mexico. Also known as the Bird pepper or Chiltepins. The plant grows to about 1.5m in a pot and is a great producer of fruit. Underneath the surface, the flesh is crisp with a fruity aroma, encasing a central cavity filled with very small seeds. Tepin chilli peppers have a bright, subtly tangy, and citrus-forward, smoky flavour with an immediate, pungent heat that quickly dissipates. Don’t let their small size deceive you, this little pepper is very spicy with a searing hot burn.
