This Afterburn Grow planting system, as the name suggests, is a Self-Watering Wicking Valve-Controlled Gutter System. Plants in their natural environment will take up water as needed. This is as opposed to human intervention, where plants are watered on a regular basis. Due to the in-system valve-controlled auto-feed (a valve that connects to a water supply/hose or tank) and the wicking soil mix, the plant does not need to be watered manually. This system is extremely low maintenance at it automatically maintains plants’ watering needs, with only occasional interventions for water treatment, plant feeding and pest management. In addition, it removes the common overwatering problem experienced by many plant owners.

The Self-Watering Wicking Valve-Controlled Gutter System works by providing a constant supply of available water in the channel below the plants. The plant takes up the water as needed from the water channel via the rootzone by means of a capilliary action and the “wicking” up of the water to the plant rootzone. The system consists of a channel “gutter”, is fitted with a float valve that connects to a water supply/hose or tank, and mounted in a level frame. Plant containers, fitted with net cups, are positioned over the channel system. Other advantages of this system are that there is no water wastage and no loss of nutrients by way of leaching.

The option for air-pruning containers is also available. This promotes strong healthy root systems, which decreases their potential to rot, in turn delivering healthy and gorgeous looking plants that produce spectacular fruits/pods.

The Self-Watering Wicking Valve-Controlled Gutter System can be customised to suit your growing space and preferences.
