The Naga Morich originates from Northeast India and Bangladesh and is one of the hottest peppers in the world. The name means “snake or serpent Chilli” and is an apt name for this ferociously hot variety. Closely related to the Bhut Jolokia. but the Naga Morich is smaller with small ribbing in the skin. Flavour is less earthy than a Bhut Jolokia and heat is the same if not hotter. It is believed to be The thin walled wrinkled pods have a high degree of variability in shape, although they are generally wedge shaped.
