The Self-watering wicking system works by filling a reservoir from which the plant is then watered from the bottom of the rootzone by means of a wicking action. The other advantage of these systems are that there is no water wastage and there is no loss of nutrients by way of leaching.
This system is soil based and self-watering. It is a wicking based system that also air prune the roots. The system is extremely low maintenance with minimal to no water wastage. Consisting of a PVC gutter mounted inted in a level frame. The gutter is fitted with a float valve that connects to a water supply/hose or tank. Plants are planted in either 20l buckets or 50l totes. Each bucket is fitted with a net cup. Once placed in the bucket the net cups sits in the water filled gutter and wicks the water from the bottom of the root system. The totes/buckers have multiple 7.5cm holes on the walls and they are lined with shede net which allows for air pruning of the roots. This promotes strong healthy root systems, which decreases their potential to root, in turn delivering healthy and gorgeous looking plants that produce spectacular fruits/pods
